Hi everyone,
Rapid Survival has been updated with new features!
Island Reworks
Banana Island has been reworked into a tropical beach for relaxation.
A bridge and a dock have been build to accommodate faster travel across the island.
The island now contains Tiki-torches and Fireflies, to aid in conquering the nights!
- Tide Pool Island
- Addition of a coral reef in the center pools
- Endless Desert
- Dust Devils will now periodically roam the desert, damaging structures they come across
- Addition of certain visual props (mesa rocks)
Buildings
The Sprinkler supplies adjacent buildings with water in a 3x3 grid.
This may be used to increase the efficiency of the dehumidifiers or fasten the growth-rate of your farms.
Puddles may form on adjacent tiles that do not contain a building.
The Farm has been reworked.
Multiple types of food can now grow, with various nutrition values. To steady your supply of food, it is important to build many of them.
Other Changes
- The Campfire is now animated and releases smoke
- Temperature Changes
- Alongside 'temperature', you can now also enable/disable 'Scorching Sun' & 'Freezing Frost' as additional island scenarios (used in customization)
- 'Scorching Sun' is enabled by default in the Endless Desert
- 'Scorching Sun' is enabled by default in the Endless Desert
- The current temperature of the island is indicated by using sun-rays (if hot) or freezing-columns (if cold)
- Alongside 'temperature', you can now also enable/disable 'Scorching Sun' & 'Freezing Frost' as additional island scenarios (used in customization)
- Within the 'options' menu, you can change the scale (zoom factor) while in-game. This is primarily meant to support larger screens up to 4K
- When starting the game for the first time, it will attempt to automatically set the scale, appropriate to your viewport
- Option to enable 'Drag-to-Build': Hold and drag the mouse to place the selected building over the dragged tiles
- Option to expand the build menu
- Buildings will be categorized and can be scrolled-through using TAB (keyboard) or using the Left / Right Triggers (Xbox Controller)
- Will only be enabled when more than 6 buildings are available in the menu
- Added a few more island challenges
- The area of effect from buildings is now visible in build mode
- Alterations to the menu screens
- A skippable splash screen will be displayed when starting the game
- Re-playing the tutorial button has been moved to the 'options' screen
- The 'options' screen is available while pausing the game
- A 'credits' screen has been added to the main menu
- Fixes
- The 'campfire' and 'fan' buildings will show the appropriate elements they affect within the build menu
- The misspelling of the word 'thumbleweed' has been corrected to 'tumbleweed'. This is, as you can imagine, a critical change
- Rain is no longer random; it will always appear sometime during the day
- Expanded the tutorial to include the farm building
- The player will turn invisible when entering build mode
- The icon has been updated
- The game now displays a border
- no dragons have been added... oh wait, wrong game
